If you have declared a
major within the
College of Arts & Sciences, paid your
tuition deposit and completed your
Orientation Data Form, you need to contact our office to arrange an appointment with an academic advisor.
Please call us at (716) 645-6883 and identify yourself as a new transfer student. We will arrange a meeting with an academic advisor, either in person or over the phone, to discuss your classes for the fall term. The advisor will review the
articulation of your transfer courses (i.e., how they will count at UB) and your
DARS report, help you choose courses for the fall term, and take you through the enrollment process so you may then register yourself in classes.
Before your appointment you should review online information for
new transfers, including information about
registering for classes and UB's
General Education requirements. You should have your printed DARS report ready at the time of your appointment. If the appointment is by phone and you are able to go online while using the phone, please be prepared to do so. After the appointment you will have all the information you need to register yourself in classes for spring.
During the advisement appointment you should tell your advisor about all the AP classes and exams you took, even if UB does not yet have the scores. If you have not previously arranged to have your
AP exam scores sent to UB, please do so as soon as possible. They do NOT transfer from your previous school!
